Phase 1
10 Week Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Program
This program consists of nine hours per week of structured treatment that includes group therapy, family/couples therapy, nutrition education and counseling, experiential groups and movement therapy groups.
General Lecture Group is education-based and lecture-oriented. Some topics include risk factors, coping skills, stress and anger management, self-esteem, communication, spirituality and relapse prevention.
Group Therapy is designed to help participants explore the underlying issues associated with their eating disorders. The group format allows for open and empathetic discussion of each individual client’s struggles and challenges. It is designed to help clients develop healthier relationships and coping techniques.
Healthy Eating and Education Group provides progressive education for establishing healthier and well-balanced eating behaviors.
Experiential Group assists clients in developing more constructive ways of expressing emotions. Emotional expression is explored through art, collage work, music and guided imagery.
Mind/Body Integration Group offers a variety of body-centered therapeutic techniques, such as yoga and other relaxation practices, to help clients increase self-esteem, self-acceptance, and comfort with their bodies.
Family Group provides education about eating disorders and how family members/significant others can provide support. An important goal of this group is to strengthen communication skills and develop healthier relationships.
Phase 2
Aftercare Program
This therapeutic group meets one evening a week. It is designed for the individuals who have completed Phase 1 and provides additional support along the journey of recovery. The group provides a safe environment for group members to articulate, process and learn from their successes and struggles with the recovery process.
Compulsive Overeating Treatment/Support Group
Learn How To End Your Struggle With Food & Weight - Increase Comfort With Body
If you feel out of control with food and are unhappy with your body size, join our five-week treatment group. This group is for individuals who are ready to let go of dieting and develop a holistic solution to weight and eating issues.
Participants will learn ways to:
- Begin normalizing eating patterns and feel more satisfied with food
- Identify individual emotional and physical triggers and practice new responses to these triggers
- Decrease binge eating and compulsive overeating episodes
- Increase self-acceptance regardless of current body shape and size
